Young Wrestlers Look to Tap into Potential

Two of Edgewood's top wrestlers, Olathe Seigla and Nolan Boyle, say that practices are intense and they do lots of drilling. Nolan and Olathe both enjoy wrestling in tournaments. Olathe says “It’s because there are a variety of wrestlers, instead of focusing on one person [in a duel meet].” Olathe also said “wrestling is something I started doing since first grade and stuck with it.” Nolan says, “I started in kindergarten, and started it because my older brother did it.”
On Saturday, December 8th at the Edgewood Invitational, the Cougars took 9th place out of 27 teams, with 99 point as a team. The wrestlers that placed at the invitational are Jake Lange, Brady Flick, Xander Began, and Olathe Seigla. Olathe lost to Tyler Woods from Franklin in the semifinals and beat Donovan Butler from Wilmington in his constellation match getting him in 4th place.
The wrestling team looks to tap into their potential throughout the season.
