The Edgewood High School Best Buddies chapter has earned one of the highest honors in the organization, being named an outstanding chapter by Best Buddies International for the 2024-2025 school year. This award is a powerful testament to the hard work and heartfelt commitment of the Edgewood students and staff.

Mr. Geygan received a letter from Best Buddies International, which praised the chapter's "exceptional commitment to inclusion and leadership in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)." It’s a message that celebrates the true spirit of friendship and belonging that is at the heart of the Edgewood chapter.

The recognition was celebrated at the 2025 Best Buddies Leadership Conference, held from July 18-21 at Indiana University in Bloomington. Edgewood's students and staff were honored during the opening ceremonies, sharing the spotlight with other top chapters from around the world.

With teachers Rocky Chasteen, Holly Dainton, and Casey Wells at the helm, the Edgewood chapter brings together more than 125 students. Through their efforts, they have created a vibrant community where lasting friendships are formed and every individual is celebrated.
